What's in my Makeup bag: School Edition

Hi there guys. Today's blog is going to be short but I just wanted to give you an insight into what I keep in my makeup bag for school. Some of the products I take I've already shown in my blog hence not going into much detail. I just wanted to let you know that now I've started my coursework in some of my subjects, I won't be posting a lot but I'll try and find time! If you don't already follow me on Instagram, I'll leave that below so you can see when I've uploaded a new post!

It's always best to keep a nice smelling spray in your bag in case the science labs smell horrible! This is in fact my favourite Impulse spray and if you ever see it pick it up. Defiantly my go to spray at only £1.99 at Superdrug.

If you to a high school like me, there tends to be 1,000's of students touching banisters and door handles. This is a pocketbac that my friend gave me from Bath&Body works is in Hippo Berry and it is a hand sanitizers I mostly use before I sit down to eat lunch or ever after! Although they are from America I believe you can buy them cheaply on Ebay and Amazon!

Now I don't normally apply blush while I'm in school but if I'm on the pale side that day I put on a little of this Maybeline touch blush to give me a bit more colour in my cheeks rather than a bright red on a Winters day! These are also on the cheap side and you can pick up them up at Superdrug.

Baby lips Dr Rescue are brilliant for helping dried and sore lips as they contain menthol. My one is in 'Berry Soft', so you can guess that it has a hint of berry smell. These aren't priced like the normal baby lips at £2.99, these are £3.49 but they are worth the money. I don't recommend applying them to much as that won't help your lips in anyway and could make your lips once again sore. They have brought out of the rest of the range so if you don't like berries, you can pick up one of the others.

This is the Benefit 'Bad Gal Lash' and it makes your lashes have good coverage. It doesn't make your eyes feel heavy or make them clump. This mascara gives your eyes a more natural look and that is more of what you want during school time! Also the mini travel sizes are perfect for just putting in your Makeup bag!

Now I don't even know why I included this as I don't usually reapply eyebrow pencil during school, but if my eyebrow pencil starts wearing off then I will tend to just fill in the rest. I also included this as it is also mini like the mascara so it is small enough to fit in your bag!

Sorry that this Blog wan't as detailed or as big as my other blogs. I will try and find a time to do something a bit bigger. If you want to see a School Makeup tutorial then comment below as I wouldn't mind showing what I do for School. Talk to you soon guys...

Skincare Routine

Hello everyone, school has just started once again, dreading what this term might hold but best to power on through! Today I will be showing you products I use for my skin and when I usually tend to use them. I also found some products that probably are for younger people who may read this! Anyway we should probably get straight in before I start blabbering about nothing...

Younger Skin:
The best place to start is to probably by telling you about 'My Skin' which is a brand that is sold at most supermarkets in the UK. This is targeted at a younger audience as you can see from the packaging below. When I first started getting blemishes and a few spots I would use these three to help out with 'calming them down.' Although having to buy them sperately they have:

  • A moisturizer (smallest bottle shown)
  • A daily each wash- which you use twice a day, (morning and night)
  • And finally a face scrub which will help your pores shrink.
I'm not sure if these are still sold but they are amazing for people who are starting to get spots and they also smell amazing!

Older Skin:
Now if I'm honest I do tend to become lazy when it comes to looking after my skin but I know if I keep to my routine I will benefit greatly from it. I mostly use the brands such as Garnier, Soap&Glory and Freedom and also immediately buy any skincare products from these top names. Let me know if you use any skincare products that you think I may enjoy that aren't included here! I'm looking to invest in some more new things to help look after my skin!

Freedom gel and Freedom overnight Serum:
Both of these work really well and are the top of my list when it comes to choosing what will be the best for getting rid of a few small spots. You have to be consistent with when you are putting it on your skin. Obviously the serum you put on before you go to bed, it's better for people have oily skin as it helps make your face feel soft and clean. With the gel you can put it on at least twice a day; that's what I do. This can just help eliminate bigger spots that you might find you are having trouble with!

Soap&Glory 'Fab pore hot cloth Cleanser' and Face Soap Clarity:
I do consider Soap&Glory one of my favourite brands for makeup, bath/shower and skin products as they make them with the most amazing smell! I've nearly used most of the Face soap as it help rejuvenate my skin but also provides the need of Vitamin C. It is 3 in 1 and you should only use this once, it would work best before bed as it will settle into your skin overnight! The cleanser however can make your face feel as if it was burning! But put it this way it means it is doing your skin some good! This includes a variety of different oils which are good for your skin like almond and lavender. I also recommend this before bed as it should only be used once a day! Remember you need a cloth to put over your face while the product is on!

Tea Tree witch Hazel with Charcoal Face Mask:
Now this is from Boots' own range of products not only is the smell one of the best, it also becomes a real help when I end up with a breakout! I normally also use this before bed, but I just let it set for 15 minutes and then when I wash it off, my skin feels refreshed for hours! If you see this around defiantly pick it up!

Sorry that the photography isn't the best on these photos! My lighting has been acting up so I needed to use the flash. I hope you enjoy this blog post! Make sure to comment any thoughts on what next and any brands I might enjoy!

2014 favourites: Beauty&Books

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all made the most out of your last day in 2014 yesterday and lets hope 2015 is even better than the last! Todays blog will probably be a sort one as I don't have many products to show and talk about. However some of the books in the blog won't come as a surprise to most of you as they were massive hits in 2014. The products that are in this blog may of not came out in 2014 but I only became aware of them during this year! So lets get into the blog!

Rimmel London Apocolips:
Although not knowing the name of this shade, I really fell in love with this range of lip-glosses. As they only retail at £6.49 at most Superdrug stores in the UK, It's a bargain as the glosses last a long time and also give good pigmentations and shine to your lips. If I was going to recommend anything from Rimmel London this would be at the top of my list. They do a variety of colours ranging from pinks, red and purples. The only thing that I find at fault with this product is that it does tend to get really messy when applying them if they are a darker colours and I wouldn't recommend this to younger users as the darker colours are more suited for older users.

French Connection Mascara:
I only got this for Christmas in a set of French Connection products but I instantly found that it was the best mascara I had used. When I first saw the end to which I could use to apply the product I was a bit confused about what it would do. However I found it gave me even coverage throughout my lashes. I don't know if this is sold separately but if it is I highly recommend getting it whatever the price!
Victoria Secret 'Love Spell' body spray:
If I could sum up this spray in one word it would be so 'fetch.' (Comment if you know the movie reference there!) The smell kindly described on the bottle is Peach and Cherry Blossom which also happen to be my favourite two smells anyway! I only have a travel size version but very soon I'm hoping to buy the full size! I do have the 'Love Spell' body lotion however as I don't actually use body lotion I have not tried it yet!

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green:
This was a typical love story but I think what made it more memorable was it was based on a couple with Cancer and to me it had a very big impacted. It reminds us all that we are lucky to not have to deal with a painful illness at this time in our life and we should be thankful for that. Now I did cry while reading this book but I did enjoy the writing style. I didn't cry as much at the movie but it was very true to the book and I give credit to the director. Also to the actors who starred in it because they did look as I pictured them in the book.
Divergent by Veronica Roth:
Let me put this to you simply, this was my favourites'- (if that's  word!)- book in 2014! I connected so much t the character and the film was perfect. I haven't finished the trilogy so no spoilers please! Funnily enough the actor who played 'Tris' was also the actor who played 'Hazel-Grace' in The Fault in Our Stars. I cannot wait for 'Insurgent' to come out in cinemas in March time. I highly recommend this to everyone. Some people say it's a rip off of The Hunger Games, however I much prefer Divergent to that trilogy as it's not all about killing people!

Thank you all for reading this blog post and feel free to comment down below some of your favourites of 2014. I wish you all a happy 2015!

Makeup for Beginners

Hi there lovely's, today I'm going to be talking about makeup. Yeah I know it's very basic but I was requested to do a guide for beginners and what kind of price ranges you are looking at for the products I show you today.

First of all I want to start out by saying that makeup should be something you enjoy and use it as a hobby rather than hiding your natural beauty. I mean we all get spots, me especially I tend to have oily skin so I use moisturizers that stop me breaking out and creams in case I do end up getting a few now and again. If you want to see a Skin Care Routine then comment below!

So if you're new to buying makeup I don't recommend that you buy high priced brands, like Benefit because you need to find what kind of things are right for your own skin. In this makeup kit I haven't included foundations or concealers as most of them are highly priced for a good one but also the fact is if you're a much younger user, you shouldn't feel you need to buy something expensive to hide a few spots you might have. Even now after a few months of using makeup, I don't use foundation. I now and then use concealer if I have a small breakout but that's about it. Enough about my skin lets get into the main part of my blog.

Miss Sporty 'Curve it!' Mascara:

At only £3.99, I think this a margin mascara. When I first started out in makeup, I used this and it did the job well done! The reason I think this is good for beginners is because Miss Sportys' range is limited meaning it's not hard to choose the right thing for you. They also have two other Mascaras if you're interested in looking for a different brush or the type of eyelash you want to see. The only thing about this mascara is that it tends to flake a lot but that's probably just me as I pick at it. It does in some cases make your eyes feel heavy so if you don't want that, then I would go for a different one. I didn't know much about makeup when I started buying it but you learn from experience!
 Soap&Glory Eye Shadow pallet:

I was lucky enough to purchase this is the boots sale for £8 when at full price this would be £16. Now there are cheaper pallets than this however I thought this was a good one to suggest as it has more natural colours that a beginner would use. Don't go out and buy a Naked pallet if you aren't sure on what you're doing. I really love these eye shadows and so far, I haven't seen fault in it. I would recommend that you invest in some good makeup brushes though, because then you can use different techniques such as a smokey eye for example! Other brands that are affordable and have cheap makeup pallets just like this are MUA and Bourjois. These two brands you can find at every Superdrug in the UK so probably check them out if you are looking for something even cheaper than £8. My favourite from this pallet is vanilla as its a creamy white, perfect for winter!

No7 High shine Lipgloss:

If you are thinking of buying a lipgloss, I wouldn't buy a dark and very pigmented one to start off with. This No7 Lipgloss just gives a small tint and shine to your lips. I don't remember how much I paid for this product however it's a nice colour for if you are going to school or if you just want to have a natural look. Nowadays I don't tend to use this much as I'm into having a darker colour at the moment, however this might be what you're personally looking for.
These next two steps are optional and if I'm honest take a lot of time and effort if you're only just starting out!

No7 Stay Precise felt tip liner:
For a beginner, I wouldn't normally recommend using eyeliner because it is very hard to make sure both of the eyes  have the same amount. If you're feeling ambitious and choose to do this then, this liner is the best to get. I have found that liquid eyeliner is best suited for me as I feel it is easier to apply. In most cases it can become a messy product to use which is why i chose the felt tip. I like to describe it as colouring in the lines, as when you do it, it's easier to draw a line across and then colour it in! If you want to have a tutorial on how I do my eyeliner let me know!
.
Rimmel London Eye Brow pencil:

The first thing I will say about using an eyebrow pencil is to firstly evaluate whether you actually know to use one or not. You dont want to get the wrong colour or look like you have slugish looking eyebrows! Personally I use eyebrow pencils because my eyebrows look grey and if I don't pluck them, its a massive problem. First rule: Don't ever pluck your eyebrows unless there a complete mess! Once you pluck them you have to continue doing it. This Rimmel London pencil was only £2.99 which I find incredible because it works well with my skin. I have darker hair so to suite me I use a dark colour to contrast them in. If you have blonde hair, you might think about using a more lighter colour than the one shown!
I hope that this has helped with any queries you might have about first time buying Makeup. Feel free to let me know whether this might of helped you or if you already wear makeup, maybe you saw something you might splurge on for yourself! Have a nice day!

Review: Girl Online, Zoella Beauty bag & Body Mist

Follow my blog with Bloglovin Hi to anyone out there who is reading this! My name is Jasmilia and I will be posting reviews, Makeup & Hair tutorials with the use of pictures; Just so you know what I'm trying to talk about! If you have any requests on what you would want me to do, I'm free to any suggestions on which you might like to read about!

By the title you will know that I will be talking about a few of Zoe Suggs' (Zoella) products. Although I only own a few things from her range I do adore them a lot and I'm very thankful that my parents brought me the Makeup bag with the eye design and the 'Blissful Mistful' which is a body mist. So lets get onto the reviews!

Girl Online Book:
I got this book for Christmas off of one of my friends. Despite only just about getting to Chapter four, I'm already in love with it. If you don't happen to be familiar with this book, I'll tell you a little about it.

This story follows a girl named Penny who is also 'Girl Online,' which is a blog about her life and how she deals with panic attacks and such follows. The only person who knows that Penny is the person who writes this blog is her best friend Elliot who actually lives right next to her! From the blurb I gather that Penny is going to meet a boy named Noah and fall deeply in love with him or something along them lines! I would basically sum this up as a Romance novel with some hard hitting issues that quite a few people can relate to in our society today!

As I said I really am enjoying this book however I find it hard to connect to the main character Penny. This isn't because she isn't portraid really well because she is but it's because I feel she is to much alike the author Zoella. This isn't me saying the book is terrible because I really like it but just that minor issue.

I really do not know why Zoe got hate for this book. Even though she didn't write it herself, she did come up with the basis of the book and the plot and in the end it came out as a fantastic book.

Girl Online was the fastest selling book of 2014 and I believe in one of Zoellas' vlogs she said she is already planning a Girl Online 2. If anyone is interested in buying the book here is the blurb:

'Penny had a secret. Under the allas Girl Online, Penny blogs her hidden feelings about friendship, boys, her crazy family and the panic attacks that have begun to take over her life. When things go from bad to worse, her family whisks her away to New York, where she meets Noah: a gorgeous, guitar-strumming American. Suddenly Penny is falling in love- and capturing every moment of it on her blog. But Noah has a secret too. One that threatens to ruin Penny's cover- and her closest friendship- forever.

Zoella Beauty Bag (Eye design):

Zoella brought out two makeup bag designs, the first being the one you can see on your left and the second being a Guinea Pig design with a pink spotted pattern. You can find that one on the superdrug website! If you're wondering why I chose this one it's because I think this one is unique and different to any other makeup bag as it has her eyes on it. Whereas with the Guinea Pig design, I think you could find a similar one but from a different company.

Now enough of me rambling on let me get to the review.
I think this bag is perfect for travelling and you only want to bring a few major essentials or a lot of little things. I can't believe how much you can fit into this bag. You could put simple makeup in it or even store makeup brushes in it. I would say make sure anything you put into the bag is clean as the inside is a lovely pale, pinky-beige colour and you wouldn't want it to get ruined! I say this as I don't think it is washable so you wouldn't want the inside to look disgusting to look into!

At the moment I'm using it as a holder for my lip balms and pocketbac hand sanitizes. But in the future when I go away I will most likely take it with 'girly essentials' or my makeup I may need while I'm away.

The beauty bag retails at around £8 in most Superdrug stores although if you didn't live close to one you could always order one from the website!

To conclude from this I do recommend this if you are into all things beauty but also if you're a fan or Zoella and you want to support her product range!

Zoellas' Blissful Mistful Body Mist:

When I was deciding what products to add to my Christmas Wishlist, this is the item that really stood out to me. The packaging is eye-catching and fun. I loved the idea of incorporating the dotted effect which is on the rest of the products, onto the bottle. On the picture the cap on top looks like a lightish pink however looking at it in real life, it is more of a deeper pink, close enough to a sort of read colour. The bottle only comes in one size which is a 45ml bottle. If I've learnt anything about myself from the past year, its that I don't actually use that much spray, so to me 45ml will last me at least a year before I need a replacement!

Onto the smell. Now I'm not the best at describing what I smell, which is why my English teacher always pulls me up on it when we are doing something to do with creative writing. I defiantly think that that's my weakest strength. I will try my best to give you what I think this smells like!
The smell to me is very fresh with hints of a floral add and a fruity element. This body mist would be perfect for the spring and summer seasons that are just around the corner! Looking at the ingredients I was not far off the right answer. One of the things included is a pomegrant fruit extract which is what makes the mist smell fruity and fresh.

In Superdrug this item is sold for £8 which I think is decent considering how much you get. As well as the beauty bag I recommend this also if you want to smell clean and fresh for the spring and summer months!
